Turning on Our HP Lights

LA
The Flower Shop at Highland Park holds their first OPEN HOUSE July 2nd from 11 am to 7 pm -- everything 25% OFF plus wine & cheese.

LA
Here's the main purpose of our Farmers Market -- just picked Iowa-grown produce.  The selection is getting larger.

LA
You're very unlikely to see black raspberries in any super market.  Red, yes.  But the black ones are much better.

LA
No fitting room on site, but Judy Kramer has some interesting clothing for sale.

LA
Some people can't resist a fresh cinnamon roll.  Dwayne and Pat also offer craft items.

LA
And lots more bakery items.

LA
Getting Byron to smile is not an easy task, but when he mentioned how many bars of soap he sold last week he managed a small smile.
New flavor coming soon "Holiday Potpourri."

LA
We'll get more info about this vendor next week.

LA
NIce wine display.  Ask for a sample sip.

LA
You can't tell by looking, but Hamad has some very tasty kabobs.  He's adding gyros next week.

LA
The green beans were gone almost instantly.

LA
Bill Carr, our Pickle (and salsa) man was handing out tempting samples on chips.

LA

LA
Mosaic Treasures are back

LA
More treats.

LA
And Culture, Inc. moved over to our shady side of the street.

Reminder.  Market promotion coming up in August.  Here's the details:

Our Farmers Market Committee on August 6, 2009 will distribute

●  150 coupons worth $1 each.
●  150 re-usable tote bags
●   Recipe cards

●   Market customer surveys
●   $200 check to pay for the redeemed coupons

Our coupons are redeemable only for Iowa-grown produce.  We are one of 20 Iowa Farmers Markets to receive these incentives.  The Market Manager and Market Committee will determine how to distribute the coupons and the tote bags.

Your Market Committee has also decided to provide our vendors with coupons that entitle their customers to one (1) hot roasted ear of corn.  This will also occur in August but not on the same day as the $1 Produce Coupons.

The ears of roasted corn at the downtown Art Fair cost $3 and are not nearly as tasty.  LA
