The Parks Community Thanksgiving Dinner, Inc. provides anyone in need a meal on Thanksgiving Day.  Chuck’s Restaurant (Linda Bisignano today) has hosted the dinner for the past 14 years.  Since the beginning of their commitment, they have served an average 2,300 dinners annually.  The dinners are put together with100 percent community support -- "neighbors serving their community."

The Parks Community Thanksgiving Dinner, Inc. is a non-profit group that invites your donations.  Mailing address:

Ham and turkey preparation begins early.  After cooking, carving begins on the Monday before Thanksgiving.  Volunteers provide pies and dinner rolls.  Packaging and deliveries begin at 10 am Thanksgiving day.  Serving at Chuck’s begins at 10:30.  Clean up begins at 2 pm and continues until done.

11.25.04.  On Thanksgiving day numerous cars line Sixth Avenue.  What's the deal?

The cars were full of volunteers to help at our 2004 Parks Area Thanksgiving Dinner.

State Representative Ed Fallon entertained the volunteers with a fine selection of Irish tunes.

Row after row of assembled dinners were ready for delivery.

Still numerous volunteers continued to assemble dinners to deliver.

Not quite so much going on in the pie room.

Outside, the dine-in diners begin arriving

And the seats in the many rooms start filling by 11 am.

Volunteers and diners still arriving.  Some walked for blocks.

People coming and going and tying up traffic.

Ignore those No Parking signs, we've got dinners to deliver.

11.23.05.  TV camera "man" setting up to film 2005 Thanksgiving Event.
