Sixth and Euclid Streetscape

Turning on Our HP Lights

On May 14, 2010 Boesen the Florist's flowerscaping crew began prepping and planting some of the nearly three dozen flower pots distributed in the Sixth and Euclid Streetscape.  Linda Bisignano, who always has the best floral displays, was instrumental in hooking up the Parks Area Foundation with the flowerscapers of Boesen the Florist.  Rather than waiting two to three months for our flowers to grow into full bloom, Boesen started us out with mature specimens plus much more variety than we had planted in prior years.  As of this moment (May 15, 2010), the planting is still in progress.  Since Linda invests much more per pot than we do, her displays still look the best.  On the other hand, ours are the best ever.  LA

These two pots are located at the base of the arch in front of Aqualand.  May 17.

LA
Unplanted pots evidently make excellent ash trays.

LA
Most of them started with a centerpiece.

LA
This is just a few of the materials involved (the broom was a necessary part).

LA
Some border plants were included

LA
Here's a couple pots in progress.  Several flowerscapers were involved.

LA
Whatever your favorite flowers or foliage,  you'll likely spot them in the completed pots.

LA
Half way done.

LA
One of the more finished pots here.

LA
Similar elements but no two pots look alike.

LA
This will look much fuller in two hours.

LA
Lots of foliage variety here.

LA
Here's one of the completed ones.

LA
And as usual, Linda's displays take the Blue Ribbon -- the hardy hibiscus last thru Thanksgiving.

LA
Believe it or not, some of the foliage plants are actually sweet potatoes.

For an even better overview, stroll up and down Sixth Avenue and Euclid avenue some warm summer evening.  You can scope them out by car, but the flowers look much better by foot.   LA
